- The Laurium Police Department
was started in 1895 when Laurium was incorporated into a village.
- The Station is located in the
Laurium village hall at 310 Hecla St., Laurium Michigan 49913.
It has been located there ever since the department was started.
- The station is open 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week. There isn't always an officer at the station
but one can be called in at any time.
- The Laurium Police department
patrols 14 miles of streets. This is from Calumet St.(Boundary
St.) to Isle Royale St. and from Old Colony Rd to South Calumet
St.
- In the case of any medical emergency,
personal injury accident, or to assist another police officer
or department anywhere within reason the department will leave
it's jurisdiction.
