Special Council Meeting

Wednesday, March 6, 2002

Present for Roll Call: Bausano, Bonenfant, Johnson, Lutz, and Zei.

Absent: Harrell and Twardzik.

Guests: Gerald Vairo and Edward M. Vertin.

The meeting was called to order in the Village Council Chambers by President Bonenfant at 5:33PM.

The purpose of this special meeting was to discuss the DPW/Police Union negotiations and the David Mitchell grievance.

AtÝ 5:35PM, a motion was made by Bausano and seconded by Johnson to enter into executive session to discuss the DPW/Police Union negotiations and the David Mitchell grievance.Ý Carried 5-0.

At 5:52PM, the meeting returned to regular session.

Present for Roll Call: Bausano, Bonenfant, Johnson, Lutz and Zei.

Absent: Harrell and Twardzik.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Bausano to settle the DPW Union contract subject to the attorneyís authorization of the final language.Ý The contract will be for two years.Ý The MERS pension will be upgraded to a B-3 and FAC-3.Ý The BC/BS will change to a PPO4 with the Med Gap plus diabetic supplies only and a 15/30 drug card with a 10/20 reimbursement.Ý There will be a reopener clause for the BC/BS only if the rates increase by 15% or more next year.Ý No raise will be given in year one of the contract and a 1.4% raise will be given in year two.Ý The garbage rates will be as follows:

ÝÝÝÝÝÝ Part time with no CDLÝÝ $8.91/hrÝÝÝÝÝÝÝÝ ìÝÝÝÝÝÝÝÝÝÝÝÝ $9.03/hrÝÝÝÝÝÝÝ ì

Carried 5-0.

A motion was made by Bausano and seconded by Johnson to change the BC/BS coverage for the Police Union contract to reflect the same changes as the DPW Union contract for BC/BS coverage, but no diabetic supplies.Ý The final language is subject to attorneyís authorization.Ý Carried 5-0.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Zei to have the Village Attorney, Gerald Vairo negotiate a settlement of the Mitchell grievance as outlined by legal counsel.Ý Johnson, Zei and Bonenfant ñ Yes.Ý Bausano and Lutz ñ No.Ý Motion did not carry 3-2.

The meeting adjourned at 5:55PM.
