called to order in the Village Council Chambers by President Harrell at 5:32PM.

was made by Bausano and seconded by Lanctot to approve transferring the liquor
license from Duane Sever to William and Laura Sever. Carried 4-0.

Recreation: The
figures from the Mite Tournament should be available for the next meeting. The arena is closing on March 19. A motion was made by Bausano and seconded by
Koskiniemi to contact Jim Enrietti to play for a dance at the George Gipp Arena
sometime during the 4th of July weekend. Carried 4-0.
Public Safety – Police/Fire: No report.
Streets/Equipment/Sanitation: Bruce Joosten is still off for a few more weeks. The two churches on Tamarack Street sent
thank you letters for the snow removal in their parking lots.
Property/Building/Ordinance: Lanctot invited Tim Lyons to come to the meeting regarding
his unsafe structure on the 200 block of Hecla Street. He did not wish to attend but will comply
with the village to demolish the back half of the building when the snow
melts. A list of unsafe properties will
be made when the snow melts. The
Houghton County Building Inspector will then review these structures. If the buildings are unsafe, the property
owner will have ample time to remedy the problems. If the structures are not repaired, the
village can fall back on the ordinance and go through the court system. There will be a fee, $75.00-$80.00/structure
but cheaper if there are several, to have the building inspector look at the
properties and testify in court if necessary.
By the next meeting, a decision will be made with the village attorney
as to which ordinance will be best.
Beautification/Parks/Community Relations: No report.
Old Business: None.
New Business: A deputy treasurer
is needed. If anyone has any
suggestions, they can contact the treasurer or the clerk. At 6:04PM, a motion was made by Koskiniemi
and seconded by Bausano to enter into executive session to discuss DPW union negotiations. Carried 4-0.
The meeting returned
to regular session at 7:13PM.

The meeting adjourned
at 7:14PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia M. Golus,
